From nuns to Captain America, hundreds of runners braved the blustery conditions this morning to take part in the Overgate Hospice 10k and 5k Fun Run.
Now into its third year, the event saw 400 athletes both young and old take to the start line to raise funds for the Elland hospice.
With a brand new location starting at St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School on Hullenedge Road, the route took the fun runners through the town centre.
Competitors, many from local running clubs including the Stainland Lions and the Halifax Harriers, took on the challenging 10k course via Elland Wood and along the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal.
Over 40 volunteers had come forward to help marshall the event with the hospice hoping to reach their target of £15,000 from the event.
