Salon re-opens after revamp

Hair and beauty business Anthony James, in Central Street, Halifax, has just re-opened after expanding their existing salon.

The salon now has three floors dedicated to hair and beauty, with owners Garry Farr and Joanne Lewis taking the decision to stay in Halifax town centre as they believe that the borough’s town centre has great potential and feel their business is booming.

“Anthony James has been here for decades”, said Joanne, ”founded by my mother and continued by myself and Garry.

“We are very pleased with the expansion, we can serve our loyal existing customers and welcome new ones.

“Previously demand was so high we were pushed for space.”

“We made the decision to back ourselves and invest in our staff and our business in the middle of the Halifax, it couldn’t be better,” said Garry, who has headed up the business with Joanne since 2001.

New staff members, as well as trainees and apprentices, have been hired to meet demand.

The salon now has dedicated washing, styling and colouring rooms with a new store manager employed to control the increased demand.
