Salterlee is a '˜outstanding' pre-school

Salterlee Pre-school has been ranked '˜outstanding' on their latest Ofsted report after previously being ranked '˜good' in 2009.

The school is for children under five and currently has 106 pupils at its Shibden base.

Ofsted has ranked outstanding the ‘effectiveness of the leadership and management’. ‘quality of teaching, learning and assessment’ and ‘personal development, behaviour and welfare.’

The Ofsted inspection, which involved parents and children as well as the staff, commented;‘children’s welfare and happiness are given the utmost priority’ and ‘staff are excellent role models.’

Mrs Felicity Sutcliffe, Early years manager of Salterlee school, said: “We thrive to build professional and effective relationships with our children’s families to create a holistic approach to our children’s learning.

“We have created strong links with outside agencies and health visitors to ensure we support both the children and their families and meet any additional needs,” she added.

“Our very qualified and dedicated team all share a passion for the early years learning and development of our children.”

Salterlee are having their next open day on July 8, 2-3pm.
