Staff and pupils laced up their running shoes as they raised vital funds for a cancer charity.
Around 450 pupils and staff from Woodhouse Primary School in Brighouse, walked, jogged or ran in aid of Cancer Research UK .
Showing great enthusiasm and determination the Rastrick school ran a distance of 870km, which is equivalent to running 21 marathons.
Andrew Thirlwell, PE Coordinator at the school, said: “We have been really looking forward to taking part and have been training during lunchtimes and PE lessons.
“The whole school and Tesco, Brighouse, who provided valuable refreshments and prizes for each class, supported the event showing a real team effort and we had a great day, whilst raising money for a seriously good cause,” he added.
“Most of us know someone who has been touched by cancer and we all have our special reasons for taking part and wanting to help more people survive.”
Each class chose a target distance to complete, with everyone exceeding their distance.
