A school secretary who has been keeping a Halifax high school in administrative order for two decades is retiring.
North Halifax Grammar School’s Brenda Beverley retires from school today.
Head teacher Andrew Fisher says Mrs Beverley has kept the school human and she’s the lady a lot of pupils have gone to with their problems as well as the woman with all the answers when the computers go down.
In 20 years, she has greeted 27,296 people to the school and has helped 328,788 staff and pupils in different ways.
Mr Fisher said: “She’s given 100 per cent commitment and is rated as Outstanding.
“Brenda has made the school a nicer, happier and kinder place to be.”
