The search for missing grandmother Pamela Jackson has moved to moorland near the M62.

Ms Jackson, 55, vanished six weeks ago from her home in Chester-le-Street. Her partner Adrian Muir, 50, from Halifax, has appeared in court charged with her murder between March 2 and March 8.

Now the family has made an emotional appeal for help to find her and bring her ‘home’.

Her sister Deborah Leighton said: “On Thursday we met the search team down there. Because of the weather we hadn’t been able to go there before, with the four foot snow drifts.

“We took a big bunch of flowers and we put them on the fell tops, where they think she might be.”

Mrs Leighton said: “I would like to appeal to the public on behalf of the family for anyone, if they saw Pamela between March 2 when she disappeared and March 8, to come forward.

“If they can think of anything amiss that they think the police should know, please contact them or Crimestoppers.”

Call police via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
