Firefighters from Todmorden and Halifax attended and had to cut the roof of the car off to free the two passengers.

The driver, a woman thought to be in her 50s, has been taken to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Her son, who was also in the car, was not injured.

The road is expected to reopen by 4.30pm but the accident is affecting bus services in and out of Todmorden.

Services 590 and 592 are having to terminate at Todmorden.

Anyone who saw the accident or who has any information should contact West Yorkshire Police on 101.
