By Car

A trip down the A1 or the M1 is easy enough but the mileage does tot up to a 400 mile round trip. The A1 takes you pretty much straight there although the M1 is supposed to be slightly quicker. Vehicles accessing the Wembley Retail Park via the A406 North Circular should do so via Great Central Way or Drury Way, and then continue along Great Central Way, First Way and Engineers Way. Be aware that Thames Water have advised of emergency repair works to a sewer pipe by Neasden Lane. These works will result in the A406 North Circular Road reducing to two lanes eastbound and two lanes westbound. Wembley Stadium are currently working with Transport for London and Thames Water to ensure these works are completed before this Event. Parking will be available in the stadium on the day, although it is likely to fill up quickly when it becomes available.

By Train

Getting a train to Wembley is not too difficult. The main thing is not to get hung up about reaching Wembley Stadium. The easiest stations to reach are Wembley Central and North Wembley. Wembley Central is the closer of the two but you can soak up the atmosphere during the walk to the stadium from either station. The first rail services from Halifax departs Halifax Station at 08:10 and arrives at London Kings Cross at 10:41. The last direct service from London Kings Cross departs at 19:22 and arrives at Halifax Station at 21:55, although there are additional services with one interchange (and similar journey times) until 20:05. Other lines may have to change at Leeds or York. From King’s Cross, head to Euston, which will then have services to North Wembley and Wembley Central. Those determined to arrive at Wembley Stadium will need to go via Marylebone. The standard return fare from Halifax to Wembley appears to be around £100-£150 but if you get in early and book you may get it cheaper. At this stage operators have not announced whether they will be putting on extra and later services.

By Coach

These are instructions for those that have booked on the official coaches down for the game. From the FC Halifax Town website: “Please enter the ground via the car park entrance on Shaw hill. No vehicular access into the stadium except coaches. Enter the stadium at the side of the five a side courts. Ensure you arrive at ground at 7.00am, you must be wearing your silver travel wristband. Hunger hill - car park will be open from 6.30am and is FREE parking. Ticket check/wristbands will be carried out at the side of the south stand. No alcohol on board coaches - bags will be searched. Any alcohol found will be confiscated or travel will be refused. Passengers are not allocated a coach, just a seat on a coach. We’ll endeavour to sit groups together. We ask single travellers to make themselves known, so odd seats can be filled. Disabled customers and their families should enter the stadium as above. But then use the gate at the south end of the east stand to board their coach. Coaches will follow the same route out of Halifax to the motorway then travel down the M1 stopping at Watford Gap or Northampton services. They will also follow the same route back however service stops on the return are dictated by driving hours (it can take up to two hours to get out of the car park at Wembley) coaches will aim to depart the coach park no more than 60 minutes after final whistle. (40 minutes if FC Halifax Town become runners up.)On arrival back at stadium coaches will drop in front/behind east stand. Holiday Inn Wembley - just 0.2 miles from the stadium. Rooms for £225 on their advance saver rate or £249 flexible rate.

The Ibis London Wembley - 0.3 miles from the stadium. Rooms between £199 and £210

The Hilton London Wembley - 0.4 miles from the stadium. Rooms for £334.

Don’t expect this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be cheap. To buy a programme will cost you £10 you may have heart palpitations but £1 of all programmes sold goes to the British Heart foundation.

DRAUGHT BARS – Bar Kiosks, with a range of hot and cold drinks, beers handcrafted pies and confectionery. A coffee here is: £2.50.

HOT DOGS – Authentic Bavarian hog skin hot dog served with cooked onions, mustard seeds and fresh chives. £3.90.

BURGERS & CHIPS - British beef burgers, served with chunky chips and garnishes. £8.
