Sheila Wade was looking for a special piece of jewellery to celebrate her silver wedding anniversary and it doesn’t get much more special than having your own diamond.
The 54-year-old has been given the beautiful rock after winning a contest to celebrate Harveys department store’s 60th anniversary.
The diamond – worth up to £3,000 – has been provided by Franklyns Jewellers and Goldsmiths Ltd. Harveys will cover the cost of having the diamond crafted into a piece of jewellery.
Mrs Wade, who works for HBOS in Copley, was the lucky winner picked from hundreds of people who collected Courier coupons to enter the draw.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said the mum-of-two from Outlane. “I think I’m going to get it made into a ring because I said I was going to get a special piece of jewellery to celebrate my silver wedding anniversary a couple of years ago,”
Harveys turned 60 in March and ran the competition as a way of celebrating with its customers.
