Shots fired at Huddersfield home

Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses following a firearms discharge.

Officers were called to an address in Hammond Street in the Hill House area at 00.03 in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).

Evidence of a firearms discharge was found at the window in the property. No one was injured.

Detective Inspector Ian Thornes of Kirklees District CID said: “This was clearly a frightening incident for the occupants of the house and we are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything to contact us.

“We believe this is a targetted incident. The scene has been examined by forensic officers and patrols in the area have been increased to reassure the residents.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Anyone who witnesses the incident or who has any information is asked to contact Kirklees District CID via 101 and quoting crime reference number 0005 of the 18/3.
