Today, the hotel chain has revealed some of the items left behind in its 506 hotels across the UK during the last 12 months.
With more than 17 million people annually staying in a Travelodge hotel, some of the most unusual booty has been left behind in Halifax, including:
A Victorian wedding dress
A family tree
A Swarovski encrusted Indian wedding dress worth £5,000
A book of poems written by a nine year old girl
Simon Cowell’s autograph
Travelodge spokeswoman Shakila Ahmed said: “Over the last 12 months we have seen a substantial rise in business customers and families staying across our 506 UK Travelodge hotels. As a result, our lost and found inventory report has revealed some incredible items being left behind.
“Our 2015 left behind register has revealed that we have become a nation obsessed with smart technology, as we have had a noticeable increase in chargers, tablets and smartphones left behind in our hotels during the last 12 months. What is becoming evident after speaking to our customers is that the pace of modern life is fast and furious. We are controlled by time and eager to get from A to B therefore valuable possessions are being forgotten.”
