Calderdale music fans will get a chance to enjoy the sounds of musical twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas, who are on the threshold of becoming one of the first genuine major British country acts.

The 20-year-old singers, who hail from Hampshire, recorded a rough demo while they were in the sixth form and were delighted when the track found its way into the hands of two respected Nashville session musicians.

Now, with their debut album ‘From Where We Stand’ and debut single ‘Push For the Stride’ due out on July 21, the two girls are being tipped for stardom. Currently on a mammoth tour of the UK, Ward Thomas will be performing at the Puzzle Hall Inn, Sowerby Bridge, on Thursday, July 17.

Catherine and Lizzy have had country music in their blood since they were introduced to the sounds of Carrie Underwood, Johnny Cash, the Dixie Chicks and Alison Krauss while they were in their teens. They have been interviewed on Radio 2 by Terry Wogan and have played at the Country2Country Music Festival at London’s O2 Arena.

The music starts at around 8pm.Call 01422 835547.
