A skeleton has been unearthed in Sowerby Bridge.

Workers on the site in West Street discovered the coffin which contained the skeleton on Tuesday.

The site used to be West End Congregational Church which closed in 1962. The graveyard was exhumed in 1968 before it became a petrol station.

It is now being developed into housing.

The skeleton has been cremated.
