Sky’s the limit for daredevil Krystle

29-year-old Krystle Shaw, of Hove Edge, Brighouse, completed a 15 thousand skydive for Cancer Research and has raised more than £2,000 for the charity which has helped “an incredibly close family member” and other loved ones in her life.

She travelled to Lincolnshire with friends to take the plunge. One friend, Emily Waddington, recently lost her mum to cancer.

Krystle, who did a skydive for the first time, said she was so nervous ahead of the event.

“I couldn’t eat or sleep the night before and on the way up in the plane I just couldn’t look down - I was petrified,” she said.

After free-falling at 140-mph, when the parachute opened, she said the view was incredible and wanted to experience it all over again when they’d landed.

Krystle now hopes to complete a second sky dive to contribute towards the cost of cancer research and treatment. Next time she hopes to fundraise for Calderdale Royal’s Macmillan Unit.

“My family and I only know too well about this disease - many of us have been touched by this horrendous thing that claims so many beautiful lives.

“With every penny donated we are making a difference. I have every faith that one day we will find a cure,” she said.
