The charity, which works to help homeless and vulnerably housed people across the borough, hopes to give people the experience of what it’s like to sleep rough. Around 60 people took part last year and organiser Craig George, funding and relationship manager at SmartMove, says it was a profound experience for all involved.

He said: “We are hoping that twice as many people will take part this year. Last year’s event raised £10,000 and we hope to raise more this year. Anyone over the age of 16 is welcome, the event is free to enter and all we ask is that people raise as much as they can through sponsorship.”

This year’s sleep out, which will be held on Friday, November 11, is sponsored by Aquaspersions. For more information: Ring 01422 361515 or visit www.calderdalesmartmove.org.uk/events/events
