SLIDESHOW: Brighouse Charity Gala sees off 50th year

Families turned out in force to a sun-drenched 50th Brighouse Charity Gala.

The jubilant gala procession kicked off from Garden Road, with the parade filing through the town centre and into Wellholme Park, where the event was held.

To celebrate 50 years, the first ever gala queen Judy Pilling rode in the procession alongside last year’s queen Paige Roderick and this year’s gala queen Imogen Turner.

The Mayor of Calderdale Councillor, Lisa Lambert, also joined with proceedings as crowds were wowed by the likes of the Brighouse Star Twirlers and other walking groups.

Organisers Tweeted: “It’s been a great day! Thank you to the committee, the helpers, stall holders and the sun!”
