In response to suspending 19,000 groups, Slimming World has announced the launch of a new temporary virtual weight loss service.

The service will enable Slimming World’s members to continue to enjoy - in a virtual environment - weight loss support, as well as friendship and community spirit like they find at groups each week.

The new service also means Slimming World’s 5,000 consultants can continue to offer a service, at a discounted fee, so that they can continue to work and earn their own living during the weeks and months ahead.

Michelle Bancroft, who runs the Brighouse and Elland team and has two groups in Elland, said: “This week we have gone live with our virtual service, it really is an amazing way of helping our Slimming World community in what is a very difficult time for everyone.

“The virtual groups are filling up fast, we are looking forward to meeting our members in image therapy, our consultants and fellow members will be there to support them, inspire and motivate them share great tips and ideas on how to stay on plan while maybe not been able to get or have all the ingredients.”
