Last year’s winner was Withinfields Primary School, Southowram, but it faces stiff competition from the fantastic entries we have had this year.

Recordings will begin to appear online from today, with Courier readers choosing this year’s champions.

Don’t miss the pictures of schools taking part and your voting coupon, which will appear in the paper in the first two weeks of January.

The competition is sponsored by Harveys of Halifax department store, which has kindly offered prize money for this year’s winning school.

The winning school will receive a £250 prize.

The runner-up will receive £150 and third place will get £100.
