Sovereigns and jewellery worth thousands stolen from Brighouse home

Police are appealing for information after a significant amount of collectable sovereigns and jewellery was stolen from a house in Brighouse.

The incident happened on Wednesday June 1 at approximately 3pm, at a property in Brighouse, when suspects forced entry into a rear window.

A large volume of collectable sovereigns as well as a lot of jewellery, valued at several thousand pounds.

Detective Constable Simon Jenkinson, of Halifax CID, said: “We are appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information to help us trace the items stolen during this burglary.

“A large volume of coins and jewellery was taken from the property which have significant sentimental and financial value and we hope to be able to reunite these with their rightful owner.

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed anything on the day, or has any information about this incident. Also if anyone has tried to sell any gold sovereigns to contact myself via 101 quoting reference 13160234142.”

The items included:

2000 sovereign;

2000 22 ct gold proof sovereign. Certificate no 9769;

2000 Millenium silver proof crown, 999 fine silver with 22 ct gold spray;

2000 The UK millenium silver collection. Cert no. 10683. 13 coins including Maundy coins;

2001 22 ct half sovereign and 2001 22 ct sovereign;

2002 UK gold proof 3 coin sovereign set;

2007 four coin gold proof sovereign set;

2007 22 ct gold £5 crown for diamond wedding;

2008 gold proof Britannia 4 coin set;

2012 three coin premium set gold proof sovereigns (double, full and half) for the Jubilee;

2003 Prince William birthday - three coin silver proof set;

2005 UK four coin sovereign set;

2006 UK four coin gold sovereign set;

2006 Britannia gold silhouette collection - 958 Britannia silver and gold plating;

Royal Mint medieval bangle. 9 ct gold bracelet containing 1/4 ct diamonds;

Five stone diamond ring mounted in 18 ct white gold;

Five stone diamond ring, Victorian design scroll, boat shaped head, mounted in 18 ct yellow gold and hall marked Birmingham 1912;
