Sowerby Bridge Station goes ‘Victorian’

Sowerby Bridge Railway Station is stepping back in time this weekend to mark 175 years since trains first steamed through the town.

The station has been decorated with Victorian themed flags and bunting and a specially organised tours of the station took place on Saturday afternoon.

There was also a spot of background music performed by the Breakaway Brass Band.

For those interested in the station’s history, there is another tour of the station on Monday afternoon, which runs from 2pm to 4pm and includes a free souvenir 1840 ticket. Email [email protected] to book your place.
