Spooktacular fun for little monsters

Ghosts and ghouls will have plenty of Halloween fun and activities to choose from this weekend.

The spooky spectacular begins at Shibden Park tonight (Friday) with its Halloween walk.

The frightening fun starts from 6pm onwards with entertainment followed by a fireworks display at 7.30pm. The guided walk will then set off after the fireworks have finished, allowing visitors to explore the grounds of the Shibden Estate by the haunting glow of torchlight.

There will also be fairground rides, refreshments, a spooky tunnel and of course a ghost train.

Admission is £4 for adults and £2 for under 16s, which includes a donation to Overgate Hospice.

Brighouse Business Initiative will be holding a Trick or Treat on Saturday between 10am and 3pm.

Twenty-five shops will be taking part and giving out free treats for children in costume 12 and under and accompanied by an adult

There will also be a Halloween competition where families can collect a letter and leaflet from each shop to make a Halloween phrase and be entered into a free prize draw.

Be prepared for spooky going ons between 10.30am and 2.30pm at the Maurice Jagger Centre, Winding Road, Halifax on Saturday when the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield and District Branch hosts its Halloween Fair.

There will be stalls and games, including the Night Before Christmas, a tombola, raffle, gifts for pets, and lots more.

To get your little trick and treaters ready, students from the Bradford College Media Make Up department will be on hand at Kershaw’s Garden Centre, Halifax Road, Brighouse on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
