A North Halifax community centre is to deliver a fitness programme aimed at all ages of people with disabilities.
Threeways Centre, Ovenden, is running Saturday sessions, 11am-12pm, for people to try different sports offered on its Lead the Way ten week course funded through West Yorkshire Sport.
Lucy Wall, development officer for West Yorkshire Sport, attended a recent session. She said: “The project aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity regardless of age or ability for adults with a a learning disability. The activities allow people to give things a go they may not have had the chance to try before.”
Sports include badminton, football and more.
Sports coach, Hayden Claughan, instructing weekly sessions, said: “Seeing how much the participants enjoy what I am delivering is rewarding. I have met a lot of great people over the past few weeks and I hope to meet many more.”
Sessions cost £2.50 and no fee is charged for carers.
