A YOUNG singer turned down by X Factor producers has pledged to try again for next year’s show.
Malissa Campbell, from Elland, auditioned for the hit television talent show in Manchester on Saturday but was not put through to the next round.
The 22-year-old, who was up against 7,000 other hopefuls, says she will audition again next year.
“It was more about the experience,” she said.
“There were so many people and it was such a good day.”
Malissa, who works at Norton House care home in Elland, was thrilled she was able to meet X Factor host Dermot O’Leary.
“He was really nice,” she said. “He asked how we were and if we were having a good time.”
