Staff at a firm in Elland slept in their offices as flood water swept through their buildings.
ReactivMedia on Gas Works Lane suffered thousands of pounds worth of flood damage on Friday night after the River Calder burst its banks.
Offices, the canteen and printing rooms were all under four feet of water, as were 11 company cars which had been left in the car park while Managing Director Tony Abbot and his senior managers enjoyed a team building exercise in Spain.
Tony said: “Obviously I’m distraught about the flooding damage, particularly the cars because any other weekend and the car park would have been empty.
“But the staff here were absolutely superb. I got a call saying the office had flooded, but when I got in touch with some of the staff they were already there.
“They stayed all night to try and limit the damage which is a huge credit to them.
“That’s what we’re all about at Reactiv and it’s that kind of attitude that is the reason I enjoy coming to work.”
