HOSPITAL staff have urged visitors to think twice about visiting relatives if suffering from flu.
Seasonal flu and other common viruses and illnesses can easily be spread to vulnerable patients.
Bosses at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust urged anyone with flu symptoms or sickness to stay away.
Outpatient appointments should be rescheduled if ill.
Consultant microbiologist David Birkenhead said: "We are urging visitors to think before they come to hospital to visit – do they have flu-like symptoms or sickness and diarrhoea?
"If the answer is yes, they could be putting vulnerable patients, other visitors and our staff at risk of infection."
