A DIAMOND couple are still happy sixty years after they got married.
Leonard, 83, and Joyce Greenwood, 82, met as teenagers before going on to make their vows at Temperance Methodist Chapel, Elland on September 22, 1951.
Leonard served in the army from 1946 to 1948 but on his return they set about building a life together.
In 1977 the couple were forced to move out of their home on Limes Avenue, Elland, when the Council demolished the houses to build the Elland Bypass.
The couple say it was motivation to move on and find somewhere better to live.
Leonard spent his working life at car dealership A.E. Crossley & Co Ltd - working his way up from apprentice mechanic to director.
Joyce worked at the Rowntrees factory, Halifax.
They will celebrate the anniversary with family and friends at home.
