Gail Broadbent, who runs Hebble Harlequins holiday club, had taken a group of children to Bankfield Museum, Boothtown.

After the group had finished their activities, Gail was shocked to find that a tree had smashed through her car.

She said: “The car is a complete write off. I just thought ‘oh my gosh’ when I saw it. The whole tree has uprooted.

“Thank God no-one was in the car at the time and I’m just glad no children have been hurt.”

Council officers are now at the museum and are working to clear the scene.
