Shining sun and stacks of entertainment put a smile on everybody’s face at the annual Elland Carnival.
There was fun for all the family to enjoy and it all kicked off with a vibrant procession through the town centre.
Yorkshire Volunteers Military Band also made a special appearance and Saturday afternoon was packed with activities and events, including displays from the Diamond Gymnastics Squad, the Karen Binns Stage School, a magician, a Dixieland Jazz Band and more.
Stalls, a fairground and classic cars also kept crowds entertained.
David McCorrie, chair of the carnival committee, said: “It was an absolutely brilliant day and the weather was just fantastic.
“The Yorkshire Volunteers Military Band were spectacular. Everybody I have spoken to seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
“We brought the carnival back to the town centre and that’s the best decision we could have made. It brings the people out of the houses and creates a real atmosphere in the town.
“I’m just lost for words, everybody said it was brilliant and that’s what we do it for.”
And there will be more to enjoy in Elland on August 1, when a car rally hits the town centre.
Around 70 to 100 classic cars are expected to displayed, with the event being held from 10am until 4pm.
