Surge in new homes across Yorkshire

The worrying shortfall of new homes across the country is set to be in excess of one million by 2026, recent reports have warned.

But one Yorkshire housebuilder has ambitious plans across the region and will increase its construction rate to a little over 500 in 2019, aiming for over 600 homes by 2021.

“These growth plans have been part of the business strategy for the last couple of years and have been re-visited and amended as our new team of directors have seen appropriate and felt achievable,” said Mark Leigh, managing director of Miller Homes Yorkshire.

"The team are fully committed to bringing these new homes in ideal locations for Yorkshire people to enjoy.”

The housebuilder currently has sites all over Yorkshire, and will unveil three new developments during 2019 at Skipton, Boroughbridge and Drighlington.

Holme View in Scholes opened this month, joining ten other existing developments and a portfolio of two, three, four and five bedroom homes across rural and urban communities.

Many developments make contributions to facilities in the community such as play areas, educational facilities and transport infrastructure.

“We have some exciting developments in the pipeline which will bring new house types in areas where we have not had a presence before, allowing us to showcase our quality homes to more communities,” said Mark.

“These developments coupled with our growth strategy have necessitated investment in staff, quality training and ongoing personal development programmes to ensure we deliver the highest standard of house buying journey to all our customers.”

The housebuilder is the first to offer an online reservation option; an alternative to traditional methods. It permits prospective customers to reserve available plots from their own home.
