Tackling Snowdon for a great cause

Walkers from Hebden Bridge joined hundreds of others from around the UK to conquer Mount Snowdon to raise funds for Khalsa Aid.

Khalsa Aid is an international relief organisation which provides humanitarian aid in disaster areas and civil conflict zones around the world.

The organisation is based upon the Sikh principle of ‘recoginising the whole human race as one’.

The Slough-based charity sprung into action during the aftermath of the Boxing Day floods, helping to feed local people affected by the disaster and those that had come from far and wide to help out with the big clear up.

Helen Doodson, who took part in the challenge with Amy and Tim Harbour, said: “Khalsa Aid were so amazing during the aftermath of the boxing day floods, they say actions speak louder than words – so this was our way to say a massive thank you and also to help raise vital funds for their incredible humanitarian work around the world.”

Speaking to those who complete the walk, Ravi Singh, founder of Khalsa Aid, said “It has been such a wonderful day. Thank you for making the journey and your wonderful support.”
