Talented dancers raise the roof

Theatre students from Halifax impressed audiences with musical show-stoppers ranging from Disney songs to Madonna hits at the Cresset Theatre, Peterborough, last weekend.

On Saturday, March 5, 17 students from Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in Halifax joined more than 300 pupils from schools across Essex and Yorkshire to perform ‘Get UP and Dance!’

After warming up for the event for weeks, the students wowed the 350-strong audience with their renditions of famous songs from the Lion King.

Cris Salvador, Stagecoach Theatre Arts Halifax principal said: “The show was called Get UP and Dance, and that’s exactly what the students did! They had worked incredibly hard on the performance and it certainly paid off.

“It was fantastic seeing them on stage as co-stars, singing and dancing so confidently and the audience really enjoyed it.”
