Tea and cake in the gardens

A weekend long celebration of tea and cake will take to RHS Harlow Carr gardens at the end of the month.

Lisa Bennison, Senior Cookery School Tutor and Chris Taylor, Cookery School Tutor who will demonstrate how to make Courgette & Pistachio Cake, Rosewater Pannacotta with Bettys Lavender Shortbread, and Beetroot & Orchard Apple Chutney & Piccalilli.

Visitors will be able to learn the secrets of cooking the Bettys way through demonstratons during the Petal to Pot Summer Garden Party on June 27 and 28, 9.30am-4pm.

Demos will include how to use seasonal produce from the garden to create delicious afternoon cakes and desserts, cake decorating and bread making. V

isitors can meet the chocolatier and hear the behind-the-scenes story of Bettys Chocolate Room and there’s a chance to take a peek at previously unseen material from Bettys archive - from original menus and advertising leaflets to silverware, china and chocolate boxes – as well as founder, Frederick Belmont’s personal scrapbook charting the early development of the business.
