Teen wounded in Leeds dog bite attack

The victim was in Brickfield Park, off Lady Pit Lane, Beeston, at about 11.20am on Saturday October 11 when he became aware of three dogs behind him.

Fearing for his safety, he jumped onto a bench. The largest of the three dogs, which was white with brown/black patches, got onto the bench and the victim jumped off. #

He was then bitten by the dog on the lower leg causing a two-inch wound that required hospital treatment.

PC Tracey Wilby, of the Inner South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “He called to the dogs’ owner that he was bleeding and the owner eventually put the dog on a lead. At no point did he ask how the boy was or offer any help. The other two dogs then chased the boy but fortunately didn’t bite him. The dog owner then left the park with the dogs.”

The owner was described as white, fat and aged in his fifties. He was wearing a blue hooded top. One of the other dogs was described as small and brown.

At the time of the incident, there was another man sat on a bench in the park who saw what happened. Police are interested in speaking to him.
