Judith Patrick, countryside property manager for Hardcastle Crags and Gibson Mill, said: “The team and I are so pleased that the BBC have included Hardcastle Crags as a location for filming this production.

Yorkshire is very picturesque and we’re very proud to be a part of the project.”

The BBC is making use of the beautiful woodland area surrounding Gibson Mill and a quaint waterfall just past the building as a backdrop for various scenes in the three-part series, thought to air this Christmas.

Based on PD James’s novel the story tells the tale of Elizabeth and Mr Darcy five years into their marriage, the plot surrounds the character of Lydia Wyckham whose husband is killed, creating chaos in Pemberley.
