Temporary lights in place for two weeks as £25K gas upgrade takes place
Road disruption is likely for two weeks in Hebden Bridge as a £25K upgrade is made to the ageing gas disribution network.
The major project is part of Northern Gas Network’s ongoing development of infrastructure and will involve replacing around 150m of existing metal gas pipes with more durable plastic ones.

To carry out our works safely and effectively, temporary two-way lights will be installed on Keighley Road, approximately outside number 68, for the duration of the works. These lights will be temporally removed on Thursday, May 3 until Monday, May 7 to allow for the Tour de Yorkshire.
Chris Nevison, Business Operational Leader for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We have been working closely with Calderdale Council to carefully plan these works in order to minimise any disruption to customers.
“We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible. I’d also like to ensure cycling fans that the works will be suspended from Thursday May 3 until Monday May 7 to allow for the Tour de Yorkshire to pass through Hebden Bridge safely.
