All the world’s a stage for a talented young tenor who has secured a place at a prestigious acting school.

David Fearn, from Ripponden, will study at the Guildford School of Acting on their MA course in Musical Theatre. He was one of only two be people to be offered a place in the audition room. David has just completed four years at the Royal College of Music, but he will now hone his skills in singing, dance and drama.

And the future looks bright - David hopes to secure an agent, build his training and gain his first professional role in the West End.

This summer, he will play the lead role of Merlin in the National Youth Music Theatre’s production of Pendragon.

A move which sees David following in the footsteps of successful actors including Jude Law, Matt Lucas, Sheridan Smith, and Eddie Redmayne, who all performed with the company.

During his time in Calderdale, David was a member of a number of amateur dramatic societies, including Calder Valley Youth Theatre and Halifax Amateur Theatre Youth.

It’s hoped that his professional training wil take his career to the next step.
