You have the chance to enjoy a night out and help a rising sports star.
Andy Patchett, 18, has just been selected for the England national pool team and is looking to raise money to cover the extensive costs involved. His dad Darrell has stepped in to help by organising an extravaganza at Arden Road Social Club, Halifax, on March 25 at 7.30pm to help the young potter.
“We are struggling to get sponsorship to cover all Andy’s costs and it’s particularly bad with the difficult economic times,” said Darrell.
“So we thought we’d have a big evening at the social club and get as many people through the door as possible for a great night.”
Most of the costs come from the cost of petrol travelling to events, accommodation, clothing and equipment.
“Last year it cost £2,500 just playing in pub leagues and county fixtures and tournaments,” said Mr Patchett.
“This year we reckon it will almost double to £4,000.
“Some of the England dates will be covered for accommodation but we still have to travel and obviously I travel with Andy.”
Entertainment at the concert, on March 25, starting at 7.30pm, will include Chris Howell, lead singer with Halifax band Northern Glory, an Elvis tribute act from Darren Lee and comedian Max Pressure.
Tickets will cost £6 in advance or £7 on the night.
They can be purchased from Arden Road Social Club or by calling Darrell Patchett on 07765 020090.
Andy travels to Great Yarmouth on April 2 for the England under 18s squad.
