The Shay sold out as World Cup fever grips Calderdale

Calderdale residents have showed their love for the oval ball after tomorrow’s Rugby League World Club fixture at The Shay was declared a sell out.

All four sides of the stadium will be packed to the rafters as Tonga take on Italy from 4pm.

RLWC 2013 Calderdale Tweeted: “That’s it. We are officially sold out! The few returned tickets have been snapped up. There are NO TICKETS LEFT !!!”

Before the main event, at 2.35pm, a tag match will take place between RL Legends and Military Legends.

There will also be cheerleaders, a community parade, dancers, choirs, a flag parade and the Haka performed by 600 local school children as taught by Frank Watene over the last few months.

A minutes silence will take place after the national anthems in respect of Remembrance Sunday, with members of the Yorkshire Regiment in attendance.
