Comedy returns to Sowerby Bridge on Saturday, July 26 with a bill showcasing the best talent on the circuit.
The Works is hosting a fun night of entertainment and laughs from some of comedy’s up-and-coming names.
Bored of his day job, Stockport’s Steve Shanyaski had an epiphany, walked out and straight onto the comedy stage - and he hasn’t looked back since. Charming, cheeky and warm, his roguish twinkle elevates him to another level as a performer. He combines surreal observations with wild imaginings and his off kilter set pieces have audiences fully immersed in ‘Stevie World’ as he leads them down the charming avenues of his inner mind. Steve has performed to audiences as diverse as bikers’ festivals and the Royal Variety Performance.
Also on the bill will be sassy Canadina Allyson Smith, who se decision to swap the blackboard for the microphone turned out to be a wise move. Her in-your-face stand-up and insightful commentary has ensured she has a very full diary.
Actor-turned comedian Peter Phillopson takes the middle spot and the manic - yet hugely enjoyable - Phil Ellis is compere for the night.
Audiences are soon won over by Phil’s maverick charm and his ability to think on his feet, meaning there is always a slight twist to his set. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are available from 01422 834821.
