Thieves attack camera store

DETECTIVES are searching for thieves who smashed their way into a town-centre camera shop.

Raiders broke into Jessop’s in Corn Market, Halifax in the early hours of Sunday, breaking the door and then forcing the metal shutter inside.

They are believed to have stolen several cameras and camera equipment.

They were described as two men, both over 6ft tall.

They escaped in a green hatchback.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the theft, which happened between midnight and 12.30am on Sunday, to get in touch.

Meanwhile police are also investigating two break-ins at the same cafe in just three days.

Food and cash were taken from the cafe on Drakes Industrial Estate in Shay Lane, Ovenden, Halifax, between 1am and 5.30am on Saturday.

Then thieves struck again in the early hours of yesterday, taking a boiler used to make hot drinks.

Police believe that theft happened between midnight and 5.30am yesterday.
