Thieves steal cash in new year ATM attacks in Elland and West Vale

Thieves have targeted ATM machines in Elland and West Vale stealing a substantial amount of cash over the new year period.

On Friday, three males were seen targetting the cash machines at the Jet petrol station in Stainland Road, West Vale.

The trio were seen at the station at 12.07am before making off in a stolen Mitsubishi Shogun which was later recovered in Victoria Road in Elland.

Another attack on an ATM was carried out at the Barclays Bank in Southgate, Elland at 2am this morning (Saturday).

Two masked men took a substantial amount from the bank before making off in a black hatchback and fled in the direction of Westgate.

The attacks on the ATMs are not being linked by the police at this stage.
