Three youths arrested after assault on man in Huddersfield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted by a group of males in Salendine Nook, Kirklees, last night.

Officers were called to New Hey Road in Salendine Nook, Kirkless at about 10pm last night (Wednesday November 6) following a report of a serious assault.

Enquiries are ongoing into an incident outside the Spotted Cow pub in which a 34-year-old local man was assaulted by a number of males.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment to head injuries but is set to be discharged today.

Three Huddersfield youths, all aged 15, have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Ian Thornes of Kirklees CID, said: “We are investigating this incident and I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault.

“We are looking into reports there was an earlier incident outside the pub just before the assault, and I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw what took place.”
