Thugs in mugging at 6am

DETECTIVES are investigating an attempted robbery in Halifax.

A 36-year-old man was on his way to work, walking along Gibbet Street near the Lister Lane car park, when he was approached by two men who demanded he hand over cash.

They punched him in the face before running off.

They were described as white, about 25 years old and stocky.

One was described as about 6ft tall with short, blond hair, while the other was about 5ft 5ins tall and wearing a brown hooded top.
