TOOL Academy contestant Danny Smith won the ultimate prize in the final of the E4 show – his girlfriend’s hand in marriage.
The 24-year-old proposed to Becky Maslen on camera after he was crowned the winner of the hit reality series.
The Sowerby Bridge couple also took home £25,000, which will no doubt be a welcome boost to their wedding fund.
Danny was picked as the first graduate of the “borstal for bad boyfriends” by relationship therapist Sandra Scott and presenter Rick Edwards.
The judges said they were impressed at the progress he made over the seven-part series, where he earned badges for commitment, trust, fidelity, romance, maturity and communication.
Becky, 23, enrolled him at the relationship boot camp because his jealousy and xBox fixation were causing arguments.
But their two-year relationship is now back on track after Danny proved his love in a series of challenges against the other couples.
The final episode, which went out on Monday night, saw the pair practise their parenting skills on a trio of piglets.
Danny then had to cook up a meal to impress Becky and her parents, who were surprise guests on the show, before asking them for their daughter’s hand in marriage.
“You know I love your daughter very much,” he told them.
“If I was to propose to her, how would you feel? I’m a changed man.” After winning their blessing, he then got down on one knee and popped the question to a delighted Becky – who said yes.
“Right at this moment I am the happiest girl in the world, completely,” she said.
“I’ve never met anyone quite like you,” he told her.
The pair watched the last episode with fellow finalists Dave Trudgeon and Lyndsay Davis, who they became good friends with over the month they spent filming the show together.
After the programme aired, Becky posted a picture of her engagement ring on her Twitter page.
She also tweeted: “I am a very happy and lucky girl.”
