Halifax Food and Drink Festival is set to whip up a culinary storm this weekend.
Celebrity chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli and Antony Worrall Thompson are the festival’s famous guests this weekend along with top local chefs from across Calderdale’s top local chefs
The festival, organised by Marketing Halifax, starts on Friday September 16 until Sunday September 18 at The Piece Hall.
Top quality producers, restaurants and food and drink businesses in Calderdale, Yorkshire and the rest of the UK, will showcase their culinary delights. Chefs will come from local restaurants including La Cachette, Brasserie at the Bull, the Ginger Vegetarian Café, The Tapas Bar at Todmorden and Holdsworth House Hotel and Restaurant will take to the stage to share hints and tips from their appetising menus.
Jean-Christophe Novelli, whose attendance has been supported Community Foundation for Calderdale funds, will showcase a variety of recipes from his new book ‘A Mad Frog and an Englishman’.
And Antony Worrall Thompson will whip up a selection of mouth-watering British dishes.
Michay Matthews, of Marketing Halifax, said: “Last year over 17,000 people attended the festival and with celebrity chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli and Antony Worrall Thompson this year, we’re expecting even bigger crowds. I’d encourage everyone to come along and enjoy our fun-filled weekend.”
Entry is £1 for children. Adult tickets are £2 on the Friday and £4 on Saturday and Sunday. Fmaily tickets are £10. Tickets available in advance from www.halifaxfoodanddrink.co.uk and also on the gate on each day of the festival weekend.
