A TEACHER has scooped a high tech gadget in a Halifax shopping centre’s draw.
Suzanne Peers, who teaches at Calder High, Mytholmroyd, entered the contest to win an Ipad after seeing it advertised in the Woolshops shopping centre’s Christmas brochure.
She was delighted when it was her name that was picked fron hundreds of applicants in the prize draw.
She said: “I came to Topshop for work’s Christmas party and picked up one of the brochure’s and noticed an advert for the competition.
“Somebody at work had been talking constantly about Ipads so they were kind of on my mind anyway, I’m very excited to have won, I’ve never even seen an Ipad before!”
The competition proved very popular among shoppers, Claire Quartermaine, from Woolshops’ marketing department, said: “We run a draw every year, but this year we have received well over 500 entries, which is fantastic.”
Suzanne, of Hebden Bridge, was delighted to have won the competition but feels that the prize is more than just for her.
“I think my children will probably use it more than me,” she said.
However, the expressive arts teacher has some creative ideas of how to put it to use.
Suzanne said: “I’ll be able to put all my lesson plans on it, which will come in very handy!”
