Pub users and near-by residents had to be evacuated after a fire at the Goose pub in Halifax town centre.

Two engines from Halifax were called at 2.40pm after the external cladding on the building caught fire.

It is thought the fire was started accidentally by a discarded cigratte.

Nobody was hurt.

The pub closed as soon as the fire started but is expected to re-open again at around 5pm.
