Traffic stopped in Halifax after safety concerns for young woman on bridge
Traffic was stopped in Halifax town centre after police responded to reports of a concern for safety of a young woman on a bridge.
Officers were called to Richmond Close where the bridge crosses Burdock Way just before 1pm today (Thursday).
Concerns for safety were made to the police by members of the public.
Traffic was stopped in the area as officers spoke to the woman.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said that the woman was brought down to safety and taken to a place of safety.
The roads were re-opened to traffic again just after 2pm.
