Appeal follows M62 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to yesterday’s serious road traffic accident at J22 Rishworth on the M62 eastbound section at 5:40 pm.

A Skoda Octavia taxi was in collision with a Mercedes Sprinter Van and traffic was disrupted for several hours.

The 36-year-old male driver of the taxi sustained minor injuries and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

The 34-year-old male passenger in the vehicle received serious leg injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by Air Ambulance.

The 52-year-old male driver of the Mercedes had minor injuries.

Witnesses should contact police on 101.
