Officers were called at 10.33pm on Wednesday by the ambulance service to Brighouse and Denholme Road at the junction with Perseverance Road.

A 72-year-old man suffered serious injuries and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

The collision involved a grey Volkwagen Golf and red Land Rover.

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and remain in custody at this time.

Police would like to appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicles prior to the collision or may have any dash cam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
